Magic in a Suitcase is a musical play, a fable on third culture kids. It tells the story of a troll, Peikko, sent to the Magical Mistery Zoo to help save the future of the establishment presenting magical creatures from around the world. Each creature carries their magical superpowers in their suitcase. But suitcases can get lost, superpowers might not work in a new environment, you might have difficulties understanding the foreign ways of communication, there might be confusion and loneliness.
Can Peikko make it work? Can Magical Mystery Zoo still succeed? And who is behind the sabotage the zoo is having to deal with? For those who have experienced moving to another country there might be recognisable elements in Peikko’s story, flourished with familiar and original songs about suitcases, identity and third culture.
The play is written by Suvi-Kirsi Korhonen and is performed by the talented students of the European School of Luxembourg I from March 24. until26. 2026 in the Salle des fêtes of Lux1.
Welcome to the zoo!
Warm regards,
