Adjustment of school bus lines within the framework of the AVL 13/12/20 network
As of 13th December 2020 the extension of the tramway from Place de l’Étoile to the railway station requires a complete restructuration of the municipal bus network in order to harmonise the different types of transport available. The adjustments on the network take into account the new national public transport offers and is aligned with the arrival of the tramway at the Central Station. All information about the new AVL network is available on the website newbus.vdl.lu and on the new cityapp – VDL.
The new network also affects some school bus lines. A summary of these changes are included in the attached document, details can be found in the section “school transport” on the website vdl.lu.
Pupils of the secondary school can benefit from the free card “MyCard” from the Ministry of Education of Luxembourg.
Pupils from Secondary school using the public transport and who wish to obtain the card are asked to go to the secretariat of the administration in order to register. The bus card is valid for the duration of one school year (from September 1st to July 20th), indicated by a hologram. The lifetime of a card is generally three years. The relevant school year is indicated on a hologram that is put on the card. Pupils who used this card last year are request to address to the secretariat of the administration regarding the renewal of their card.
