The European Schools in Luxembourg (Kirchberg and Mamer) will follow this recommendation as there is nothing more important than the health and well-being of the pupils.
In this context, as a precautionary measure and until further notice, pupils will be exempted from compulsory regular attendance (art. 30 of the general regulations) and all in situ classes without exception will be suspended in the two European Schools in Luxembourg, from Monday 16 March until 29 March inclusive.
Furthermore, the school management considers pedagogical continuity to be a major issue. This pedagogical continuity will therefore be maintained by the teachers for the pupils, in particular through the use of distance communication tools. We also call upon your active collaboration to support the efforts of the students at home.
In this context, more information will be provided to you shortly.
The school management is aware of the current and unique context of this situation and we are keen to inform you as best and as quickly as possible. This is why this communication is being sent to you in advance of the events that will begin next Monday. Nevertheless, you are strongly invited to bring your children back to school this Friday 13/03/2020, as it is important that they have exchanges with their teachers to prepare this distance learning as well as possible. If you are unable to do so, we will not consider this as an unjustified absence.
We thank you for your close cooperation and your support for these precautionary measures.
