VALENTINE DISCO RAISES 2000 EUROS

Students at the European School spent their weekend both having a party and raising 2000 euros for the third world. Over 400 students attended the European School Valentine disco on February 14th, held to raise money for the school's Tiers Monde projects.

The disco, for years 1,2 & 3, was organized jointly by the school's Merite Jeunesse volunteers, and the Backstage team which handles the technical aspects of the show. As well as the usual disco sound and lighting, there were special Valentine lighting effects, fancy dress and dancing competitions, and projected presentations of the work done in the Third World supported by the school.

 Even the teachers had fun!

The European School supports long term development projects around the world in India, Morocco, Senegal, Tanzania and Bolivia. The Tiers Monde group raises around 50,000 euros every year to help these, and many other short term projects. By attending the discos this year, the youngsters have learned more about international aid, and raised a total of 3500 euros.
